Wondering ‘What should I read next?’ Love and Mercy by Jen Atkinson.
Grayson just might cost Mercy her independence—or worse, her heart. Mercy Harlem did not need a man to save her. She had built her own business. She had endured the loss of not one parent, but both. She would always be a survivor. But Mercy is struggling to keep her little shop afloat. She may have to swallow her pride, ignore the butterflies in her stomach, and ask Grayson Benson for help. Grayson has a degree, he has skills—he’s also out of work. His parents and siblings are clueless to the fact—being fired isn’t something he’s excited to brag about. As his savings account depletes he lives off of his newlywed sister, but soon that plan falls to pieces too. When Grayson’s estranged grandfather invites him to come work with him, it’s the last thing Grayson wants to do. But what other choice does he have? Grayson and Mercy’s first encounter is stressful—to say the least. And sadly for Grayson—not so impressive—it’s hard to impress someone when you’re drenched and panicked. Still, Grayson finds himself wanting to impress Mercy. She is special. He can see it in her store and hear it in her words. She may be hesitant to enter into a relationship, but Grayson is determined to make changing her mind his full time job. I’m always looking for the best books to read, and I need book recommendations. Email me to let me know your favorites and maybe I’ll feature them on future blog posts.
