Wondering ‘What should I read next?’ Read The Ultimate Guide to Mystery Shopping by Trina Boice.
What is it, you ask? I tell my friends who are curious about it that mystery shopping is when companies pay you to act like a “normal” person and evaluate their business. The idea is that companies want to know what’s really happening in their retail stores, restaurants, and other establishments, so they pay mystery shoppers to go in and evaluate their experiences, while acting like a regular customer. The “mystery” is that the companies being evaluated don’t know about it. Well, their managers and owners know and are paying to have an evaluation done, but they don’t know which customer is the one doing the actual assignment. The employees do not know if or when a mystery shopper is coming. That’s where YOU step in! I’m always looking for the best books to read, and I need book recommendations. She’s learned the hard way that people can’t be trusted, and bullying has left its mark on her: her planned career is down the tubes and she’d much rather rescue strays and daydream happy endings than rely on people…until an unexpected encounter with a ranch hand makes her re-think her sheltered safety. Then Robin Cooper enters his life with her smile, her compassion, and her magic around dogs. Could there be room for her alongside his grief and uncertain future? Robin gathers her courage to start a local animal shelter. She’ll need funding, council approval and, most of all, Cliff’s support.
