Best friend/ worst enemy: Gil’s pretty much a loner who has no real friends but not really any enemies either. In past years, he’s partied with Elishama (Shama), the Prince of Ephraim and sometimes Elizur (Zurri), the Prince of Reuben. What’s his story? In case you haven’t figured it out yet, Gil needs help. He’s addicted to several drugs and needs rehab. Unfortunately, his life gets worse before it gets better. But he has a good heart. Love Interest: Deborah, Prophetess (sister to Eliab (Eli), Prince of Zebulon) Age: 21 Modern day location of his tribe: Tiberias, Israel Best friend/ worst enemy: His bestest friend is Deborah, but he also considers Eliab (Eli) to be his best friend (even though he’s sneaking around behind his back with his younger sister). No enemies to speak of. What’s his story? Ahira is a goofy, eccentric, flamboyant tree hugger who is one of the fastest runners in all of Israel. This will come into play somewhere later in the story, but I’m not sure how yet. He is madly in love with Deborah, and they love to go skinny dipping together. Even though they’re waiting to have sex until they’re married, temptation is right there. She’s getting harder to resist. But she’s a prophetess, and he’s a prophet who is very in-tune with the body/spirit connection. Hence the reason he loves to be naked with her. Skin to skin they’re able to connect spiritually but their bodies can only handle so much temptation. They need to get married. Now! He’s been hunting for the girl who broke his heart and took his innocence when he was sixteen. Instead of waiting for her, he’s hooking up with any girl who’s willing. When he finally locates Daniella, he learns that their little one-night stand resulted in an adorable little boy. They hang out briefly with Shelumiel, Prince of Simeon, but mainly because they’re close in age. What’s his story? Abidan starts off as kind of a know-it-all and a snob, but he’s also a philanthropist so he does have some redeeming qualities. Love Interest: Lin (spoiled rich girl from his opening scene) Age: 19 Modern day location of his tribe: Tel Aviv, Israel Best friend/ worst enemy: Friends with Eliasaph (Elias), the Prince of Gad but only because Elias is Ahiezer’s mentor, and they share similar political and social views. He doesn’t really have any enemies, per se. What’s his story? Ahiezer starts the story with the opinion that wealth is the root of all evil. He’s envious, bitter, jealous, and idealistic. But he wants to help the poor, so we’re rooting for him. He learns that wealth doesn't make a person evil, and we shouldn't be envious of anyone. Also mentors Ahiezer, Prince of Dan. Hates pretty much everyone else. What’s his story? Elias is cynical and thinks he needs to give every ounce of his time and energy to helping the poor. He’s reluctantly rich, snobby, idealistic, and has a chip on his shoulder. He needs to learn the concept of teaching people how to fish rather than giving them one meal at a soup kitchen. He thinks he doesn't need a ruler, but that government should pay for everything. He contradicts himself and hates rich people. Above all, he wants to serve God. Weird combination, I know. Nethaneel is prideful, snobby, and arrogant but very smart. He needs to be knocked off his high horse. He thinks college is for the elite until he’s introduced to some low-income teens who are very intelligent and just need a little bit of help getting a higher education so they can break free from the poverty cycle. Shon is pretty much enemies with everyone else. What’s his story? Shon is a cocky athlete who has no idea how to be a leader but thinks he does. He’s boastful and thinks he’s invincible.
