I’m sorry but why wouldn’t Aiden be mad? She would be mad if this was reversed. I really dislike Skyler. So arrogant.

I’m curious, did you read Pass Me the Ball? Because I’m wondering if it’s just THIS book that portrays Skyler and Jonnie in such a horrible light, or if you hated them in Pass Me the Ball also. I can still make changes. Jonnie and Skyler are two of my favorite characters; I don’t want people to hate them. Yet, this does make for great drama in the story. Do you honestly hate the characters? Or is this more like yelling at the damsel in the horror film, “Don’t walk into that dark alleyway alone you stupid woman!”

I liked Pass Me the Ball when I just looked how their relationship but now how they got together. I put that in my review when I reviewed that book. I think they cheated on Amberlyn. I don't like cheating of any kind. This book I think has Amberlyn not really over Skyler - even though she has come to the conclusion they weren't really more than kissing friends - however she was betrayed by him and Jonnie (she would no longer be my best friend). I think she hasn't gotten over the betrayal. She also sends Aiden conflicting messages about how she really feels - one minute she is crying about it then the next she is oh it's no big deal. I wish Skyler and Joni had really apologized. In this chapter and the previous one Skyler acts like nothing has changed - oh poor him he wants his friend back. I say too bad. Honestly, I wish Skyler and Jonnie hadn't been in this book very much and it had been more about Amberlyn and Aiden. But this is your book and you can write it however you want.

Why are Jonnie and Skyler two of you favorite characters?

I don't know. I'm actually re-reading Pass Me the Ball right now to try to get a feel for that exact thing. Maybe because I know what they're thinking. I know what's in their hearts. I know how hard it was for Skyler to break up with Amberlyn because he cares about her. It would be like telling your sister, "I can't hang out with you anymore because I have a girlfriend now." Plus there's the aspect of the routine of their relationship. They say it takes 21 days to form a habit. I would imagine it would take the same amount of time to break a habit. If every time you saw someone you walked up to them and gave them a hug and a kiss, and then suddenly you were no longer allowed to give them a hug and a kiss, it would be very difficult to break out of that habit. I don't really think of Skyler as all that arrogant. Knowing that YOU think he seems arrogant, I'm re-reading things for a hint of that and to figure out how I can soften that aspect. I really appreciate your feedback. Thank you!

Okay, I'm on Aiden's side here. Sure Amberlyn knows she and skylar are friends but Amberlyn has not once explained this to Aiden. We read Amberlyn's thought but she nevee has expressed her feelings to Aiden. Frankly he deserves it. Especually with what this looks like. Aiden is also not onlt thinking Skylar is trying to keep his cake and eat it to haveing Amberlyn in his arms and Jonnie in his heart. We need to have some communication between AmbAmberlynd Aiden before we lose our sympathy for Amberlyn and want Amberlyn and Aiden together. Aiden deserves more. It does make for good tension. Need balance though. Hope that helps.

You know, in spite of the fact that I really like this scene, I am wondering where Jonnie has been for the last ten minutes. The connection he has witn the three other principles, something must have prevented her from dragging Aiden out on the dance floor for the number.

And if she doesn't show up to defuse the situation now, romance has really clogged the communication lines.

Of course, sexual tension does clog up the communication lines.
